The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is a charity dedicated to the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. With active projects in over 50 countries worldwide, from England to India, ZSL is working tirelessly to protect some of the most threatened and vulnerable animals around the globe.
Throughout the months of July & August, The Cinnamon Club, Cinnamon Kitchen & Cinnamon Soho will be championing ZSL through a specially created dish on each menu. For every dish that is chosen during this period we will donate £2 to support ZSL’s vital conservation work.
Wildlife Champion Dishes:
The Cinnamon Club: Tasting of jackfruit curry ‘meat style’
Cinnamon Kitchen: Filled aubergine with root vegetables, sesame tamarind sauce
Cinnamon Soho: Paneer 65 – stir-fried with curry leaf & green chilli
ZSL has a long conservation history in Nepal, with a focus on the endangered greater one-horned rhino and Bengal tiger which are threatened by the effects of a growing human population and poaching.
In March 2016 the brand new Land of the Lions exhibit opened to the public. The breath-taking exhibit transports visitors from the heart of London to India’s vibrant Sasan Gir, where they can get closer than ever before to Asiatic lions. With only 500 Asiatic lions surviving as a single population in the wild, ZSL is working alongside the Indian government to protect this magnificent species.
